Luna Glass Crock Weights in 2 new sizes!!

Posted on November 09, 2015 by Emily Kociolek | 2 comments

The response to our patent pending Luna Glass Crock Weights has been amazing.  When we first introduced these cleaner, easier to use fermenting weights we had only one size - 6.5" for our best selling 5L fermenting crock.  As soon as we saw how popular they were, we added a 8.5" size of the glass fermenting weights to use with our 10L crocks

What we weren't expecting was how many fermenters would want these improved fermenting weights to use in other brands of fermenting vessels.  To meet our customer's demands, we now offer the Luna Glass Crock Weights in a 5.5" and 7.5" size.  Just choose which size you need all under one listing
If you haven't yet tried these upgraded glass fermenting weights, now is the time!

Gift Purchases

Are you ordering something to be shipped directly to someone else?  There a few things you should include on your order to make sure the recipient gets the correct information!

Invoices

We typically include an invoice in every order we ship.  This means the price you paid is included in the package.  If you are purchasing an item as a gift, you might not want the information visible to the recipient.  If this is the case, please add a note on your order indicating that the purchase is a gift and you do not want the invoice included.

Who's it from?

Our invoices do not include the name of the purchaser, on the shipping information.  If you would like the have your name included on the invoice, you will need to add that to the note section as well.  If you aren't having an invoice included, we suggest writing a gift message as noted below!

Gift Message

Do you want to include a message for the recipient?  If you would like to add a note to be included with your purchase, please also add this to the notes section on the shopping cart page.  We are happy to print it out on a separate sheet if you do not wish to have the invoice included with the order.

With those simple steps your gift should arrive just the way you want it!  If you have any questions or special requests, just email emily@stonecreektrading.com.

Custom Orders

Do you have something you would like to purchase from us, but it's not quite what we have listed?  We now offer custom orders through our website!

As a small family business, we can be flexible and work with our customers on an individual basis to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for.  We can now create custom invoices which we email to you.  The link in the email will allow you to pay for the order through our website the same way as other orders!  This means you will get a order confirmation email and shipping confirmation with tracking just like all of our typical orders.

We can upgrade a Rustic Crock to include glass weights instead of ceramic or do a custom shipping quote for a faster shipping method.  We can also do a "create your own kit" where you choose a crock to go with a shredder, masher and tongs.

And while we don't typically ship to Hawaii or Alaska, using the custom order system we can work with you to do a custom shipping quote to these states.

All you have to do is emily@stonecreektrading.com to let me know exactly what you are looking for and I can get started on your custom order!

We love when customers send us photos of our products being used.  It's so fulfilling to see people enjoying our products!  In the e-commerce world, we don't often hear from satisfied customers.  Which means when we do get positive feedback it feels amazing!
A customer recently sent us these photos of their first time using our Cabbage Masher and 10L Egyptian Fermenting Crock, with our Luna Glass Crock Weights
Sometimes when you see our product images it can be hard to image what it will actually look like in real life.  But seeing another customers photos of the items in use give you a great idea!
We hope you enjoy these images as much as we do, and maybe they will help you in making a decision about what to buy.
And of course, if you have some photos you would like to share, we'd love to see them!  Just email emily@stonecreektrading.com or post them on our Facebook page!

Caring for your Cabbage Shredder

Posted on September 14, 2015 by Emily Kociolek | 0 comments

One customer question we often answer is how to best care for your cabbage shredder.  Many people want to make sure this amazing tool is something they can keep in the family for years to come.  Today we thought we would share a few simple suggestions we have to make sure your cabbage shredder is here to stay!

If you would like to seal the wood of the cabbage shredder there are many oils that can be used for this purpose.  We recommend using a food safe oil, either a mineral oil or even olive oil works. Treat the shredder in a way you would care for a large wood cutting board.

In addition, It is important to make sure you store the shredder in a space which does not have large swings in temperature or humidity. An unheated garage, hot attic or damp basement is not the best place to store it when not in use.  These large changes in temperature and humidity can cause the wood to warp or crack.  It can get very hot and humid during the summer here in Illinois, so we make sure our shredders are in a cool, air conditioned space!

When washing the shredder be sure to wet the entire shredder and air dry in an upright position. Never lay the shredder on the side to dry as it can lead to warping. Always hand wash the shredder, although with the size of our shredders, I'm not sure you could fit one in a dishwasher if you tried!

Follow these simple steps when caring for your shredder and you should have a family heirloom!

New Products Coming Soon!

It's hard to believe it's already September!  It's been a busy summer here at Stone Creek Trading.  We've seen steady growth, which is very exciting.  We've been doing a better job this year of anticipating customer demand, and are happy to say we've been able to consistently keep our most popular products in stock.

As we grow and expand, we are also moving locations.  This won't mean many changes for our customers, but it means a better workplace for us!  It's been quiet on the blog front the last few months as we prepare for and execute our move.  But now we are finalizing the set up and organization just in time to prepare for our busiest time of year - the Holiday Season!

As our customer base grows, we are always looking for new products to expand your choices. As far as fermenting goes, we will soon be adding another sauerkraut making tool to our products.  Can you guess what it is?  We are also responding to customer feedback by adding more sizes of the Luna Glass Crock Weights.

We are also excited to be adding to our decorative category of the website.  We love to find new items which reflect our modern, natural lifestyle that are made in Poland.  These new items use traditional polish folk art as inspiration for their design.  We love this new modern take that artists are experimenting with in Poland.  These items will make great gifts for this holiday season!

The Garden Lanterns we introduced this summer were also incredibly popular.  We have worked with the artisan to make more and are happy to have these back in stock very soon!

We will keep you updated with more details about these new products as they become available.  Stay tuned to our Facebook page where we post each new product once it's listed on our website!

Which item are you most excited about?
